Mohamed M. Farid is a member of the Egyptian Senate and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights and Social Solidarity. Appointed in 2020, he has been a driving force behind legislative and policy reforms aimed at protecting individual rights, advancing economic freedom, and strengthening institutional accountability.
In the Senate, Farid has led initiatives spanning budget transparency, social protection, regulatory modernization, and public financial management reform. He is a committed advocate for vulnerable populations, including women, children, and migrants, championing rights-based legal frameworks that support inclusive and sustainable development.
Farid holds a Doctorate in Business Administration and is currently pursuing a second professional doctorate in Strategic and Political Sciences. His work integrates academic rigor with practical policymaking, grounded in a clear commitment to liberty, the rule of law, and human dignity.
His legislative and regional engagements reflect a sustained focus on peace, security, and international cooperation. He actively promotes cross-border dialogue and coordinated responses to transnational threats, including human trafficking, terrorism, and forced displacement, viewing regional stability as a shared responsibility. Farid believes durable peace is best achieved through institutional reform, equitable development, and pragmatic diplomacy, and his work consistently highlights the strategic interdependence between domestic governance and the broader security architecture across the Middle East and Africa.
